General: Sea Water Air Conditioning (SWAC) is a proven technology using the deep cold water of the oceans to provide cooling solutions to coastal buildings & communities. The cold water is pumped through heat exchangers, that generate cold to be transferred through a closed circuit to any of the facilities connected.
SWAC provides up to 90% savings on conventional AC units related electricity costs! It can be used for hotels & resorts, isolated communities, government & military facilities, large commercial & industrial complexes, universities, airports, and data-centers. Principle: BARDOT Ocean’s SWAC technology uses pumps to bring in large volumes of deep cold water to feed the heat exchangers of the system, that generate a cold source. The cold water (4-7°C) is pumped up from depths of 700 to 1000m, depending on the temperature pattern of the water source.
The exchangers, located on-shore, will use the cold temperature of the deep sea water to cool down a completely independent circuit that will generate the cold distribution to the facilities.
Used water is then sent back to the ocean, at depths corresponding to its temperature, to avoid any environmental impact. A part of this water can be used to produce fresh water through a Sea Water Reverse Osmosis (SWRO) system, that can provide drinkable water, and water for agriculture and aquaculture.

 The key of success of SWAC is the capacity to access deep cold water very close to the installation.

    1 - Cold water intake pipe, may go down to 1000m depth, to reach down to 4°C.
    2 - Water rejection pipe, at specific depths to eliminate environmental impact due to temperature difference.
